What does the signing certificate show?
The Docmend Chrome extension adds a signing certificate with the time, the signer’s email and a fingerprint of the document. When your client signs, Docmend records the time, their IP address and browser for the certificate. It is attached as the last page of the signed PDF, which is emailed to you both.
Docmend adds a simple electronic signature: the signer’s drawn or typed signature, their name, the date, and a certificate recording when the document was opened and signed. This level of signature is commonly used for proposals, quotes and approvals. How the certificate is added

- Tap where your client should sign and send the link.
- Your client opens the link, draws or types a signature, and clicks Finish. Docmend records the time, their IP address and browser for the signing certificate.
- The signed PDF is emailed to you with a signing certificate attached as the last page. Your client gets a copy too.

Is it a certified or qualified e-signature?
No. Docmend provides simple electronic signatures (drawn or typed signature, name, date, signing certificate). It is not a certified or qualified e-signature service.
Where do I find the signed PDF?
As soon as your client clicks Finish, the signed PDF is emailed to you with a signing certificate attached as the last page. It also appears in Docmend under Send for signature, with a download button. Your client gets a copy too.
What does Docmend store for a signature request?
The PDF, your name and email, and your client’s name and email are stored on Docmend’s server so your client can open and sign it. You can cancel a request at any time, which deletes its PDF files from the server.
